Hooky, an Intercom alternative for your small sites

Intercom is the reference in customer support for companies with a real team, with its Fin AI agent. If you launch sites with AI and simply want to answer your visitors from your phone, Hooky costs far less and installs with one prompt. Here are the details.

What Intercom does

Intercom combines a complete helpdesk (Messenger for live chat, shared inbox, ticketing, public help center, automations, reports) with Fin, an AI agent that answers customers and is only billed when it resolves the request. It’s aimed at support teams, from startups to large companies, with iOS and Android apps to reply on the go.

Intercom bills per seat (each person who replies), plus Fin usage and add-ons (Copilot, outbound campaigns…). There’s no permanent free plan, but there is a 14-day trial.

Who Hooky is a better fit for

  • You work alone, or in a small team: Hooky costs €0 for one site, €9 a month for ten, €29 for fifty sites and five people. At Intercom, a single seat already costs $19 a month on the entry plan.
  • You build your sites with AI: a prompt to paste into Lovable, Bolt, v0, Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT, and the bubble is in place. Your AI can also create the account through our llms.txt.
  • You want a predictable price: Hooky’s plans have no per-person seats, no usage billing and no conversation quota.
  • You have several sites: one inbox for all of them, filterable by site, on your phone.

When Intercom is still the better choice

  • You have a support team of several people, with assignment rules, SLAs and detailed reports.
  • You want an AI agent to resolve part of the requests for you. Hooky doesn’t have one.
  • You need a help center, ticketing, or in-app messages (product tours, surveys).
  • Your product is a SaaS with logged-in users, and you want each conversation tied to its customer account.

Switching from Intercom to Hooky
